Glibedal (Glyburide) Recommendations
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Glibedal exactly as directed.
The usual starting dose in adults including the elderly is one Glibedal tablet (2.5mg) a day before breakfast. Your doctor may raise the dose of Glibedal by one tablet at a time (2.5mg) until your diabetes is stabilized. When you are taking 2 or more Glibedal 2.5mg tablets your doctor may change you to Glibedal 5mg tablets.
Continue taking Glibedal for as long as your doctor tells you to.

Tell your doctor before taking Glibedal, if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have severe liver or kidney problems, or a genetic disorder known as glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
