Calabren (Glyburide) Recommendations
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Calabren exactly as directed.
The usual starting dose in adults including the elderly is one Calabren tablet (2.5mg) a day before breakfast. Your doctor may raise the dose of Calabren by one tablet at a time (2.5mg) until your diabetes is stabilized. When you are taking 2 or more Calabren 2.5mg tablets your doctor may change you to Calabren 5mg tablets.
Continue taking Calabren for as long as your doctor tells you to.
Calabren (Glyburide) Precautions
Tell your doctor before taking Calabren, if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have severe liver or kidney problems, or a genetic disorder known as glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
