Debtan (Glyburide) Recommendations
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Debtan exactly as directed.
The usual starting dose in adults including the elderly is one Debtan tablet (2.5mg) a day before breakfast. Your doctor may raise the dose of Debtan by one tablet at a time (2.5mg) until your diabetes is stabilized. When you are taking 2 or more Debtan 2.5mg tablets your doctor may change you to Debtan 5mg tablets.
Continue taking Debtan for as long as your doctor tells you to.
Debtan (Glyburide) Precautions
Tell your doctor before taking Debtan, if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have severe liver or kidney problems, or a genetic disorder known as glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
