My wife, who is 65 years old, has been suffering from pain in her left knee joint. She has been taking NSAID, ALEVE 220mg, INSTAFLEX GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE 1500mg, and CELEBREX 200mg for years, but unfortunately, these medications have not been helpful in alleviating her pain. She had an appointment with an orthopedic specialist scheduled next month to inject fluid into the left knee joint. However, last Sunday, while attending church, she met an old lady friend who had experienced the same problem with both knees. The lady gave my wife a packet of DICLOFENAC SODIUM 50mg tab EC, which is a round, light brown tablet. The lady had been taking this medication along with her husband for his back pain, and they both felt free from pain. My wife took one tablet when she got home, and the next day, she felt no pain while walking down the stairs. We are now trying to obtain a steady supply of this medication from our doctor this week. Consequently, we have already canceled the upcoming appointment with the orthopedic specialist, who had planned to inject fluid into the knee. He had also mentioned surgery for the knee if it continued to be painful. However, we will stick with DICLOFENAC SODIUM 50mg tablet EC, as it has been effective in relieving my wife's pain.
