Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Utin exactly as directed.
Your doctor will tell you how much Utin you need to take. Utin is usually taken every 12 hours.
The usual dosage for urinary tract infections is 400 mg twice daily for 3-21 days depending on severity of infection or organism sensitivity. The maximum dose is 800 mg daily.
The usual dosage for uncomplicated gonorrhea is 800 mg as a single dose.
The usual dosage for prostatitis is 400 mg every 12 hours for 4 weeks.
A lower dose may be required in patients with kidney problems.
Utin should be taken on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. It is recommended to drink plenty of water during treatment.
Tell your doctor before taking Utin, if:
you are allergic to any medicine;
you have any serious conditions including kidney or heart problems;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
