Serevent (generic name: salmeterol; brand names include: Aeromax / Serobid) is a drug that belongs to a group of drugs known as beta2-adrenergic receptor agonists.
Serevent is used in the long-term twice-daily treatment of asthma, treatment of exercise-induced bronchospasm (EIB), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Use your medicine exactly as directed.
The usual dose for asthma and COPD is 1 inhalation twice a day. The 2 doses should be about 12 hours apart.
Tell your doctor before using Serevent, if:
you have heart, liver, thyroid problems, or diabetes;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
