Loxapine (generic name: Loxapine; brand name: Loxapac) belongs to a group of medicines called antipsychotics.
Loxapine is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders. It is used for the treatment of schizophrenia.

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Loxapine exactly as directed.
The dose of Loxapine that your doctor recommends may vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
The severity of your condition
Other medical conditions you may have
Other medications you may be currently taking
The recommended starting dose of Loxapine for schizophrenia is 10 mg twice daily (or up to 25 mg twice daily for severe schizophrenia). Your doctor may increase your dose up to Loxapine 250 mg total per day if necessary.
Loxapine is usually taken by mouth two to four times a day.
You can take Loxapine with or without food.
Loxapine should be taken at the same time(s) each day to maintain an even level in your blood.
Tell your doctor before taking Loxapine, if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have epilepsy or asthma, or cardiovascular disease;
