Dalacin (generic name: clindamycin; brand names include: Clindatec / Dalacin / Clinacin / Evoclin) is used to treat a wide variety of serious bacterial infections including infections of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue, pelvis, vagina, and abdomen.
It is also used to treat bone and joint infections, particularly those caused by Staphylococcus aureus.
Dalacin kills sensitive bacteria by stopping the production of essential proteins needed by the bacteria to survive.
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Dalacin exactly as directed.
Dalacin may be taken with or without food.
Take Dalacin with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL).
