Azor (generic name: amlodipine / olmesartan medoxomil) is a new combination medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure.
Azor is a combination of two agents - amlodipine (the number one prescribed calcium channel blocker on the market) and olmesartan (an angiotensin receptor blocker) that lower your blood pressure with the convenience of one tablet.
Azor may be used either alone or in combination with other drugs.
Azor allows your blood vessels to relax, so blood can flow more easily. Azor has been shown to lower blood pressure in patients with mild to severe hypertension, including patients with diabetes, patients over age 65, and African American patients.
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Azor exactly as directed.
The usual dosage of Azor is one tablet.
You can take Azor with or without food.
Tell your doctor before taking Azor, if:
you have heart, liver or kidney problems;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Active ingredients: amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil.
