Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Apo-Glibenclamide exactly as directed.
The usual starting dose in adults including the elderly is one Apo-Glibenclamide tablet (2.5mg) a day before breakfast. Your doctor may raise the dose of Apo-Glibenclamide by one tablet at a time (2.5mg) until your diabetes is stabilized. When you are taking 2 or more Apo-Glibenclamide 2.5mg tablets your doctor may change you to Apo-Glibenclamide 5mg tablets.
Continue taking Apo-Glibenclamide for as long as your doctor tells you to.
Tell your doctor before taking Apo-Glibenclamide, if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have severe liver or kidney problems, or a genetic disorder known as glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
