Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Aponal exactly as directed.
Your doctor will tell how much Aponal you need to take. The usual starting dose is 75 mg daily. This starting dose may be lower for elderly patients.
The usual duration of treatment is 6 months. Like with other antidepressants, it may take up to 2-3 weeks for the full effect of Aponal to be seen.
